   This tiny house is located in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. I love the stairs design and the INCINerating tOiLET  INCINOLET ( using electric heat to burn human liquid, solid waste and toilet paper , etc.). The interior color is in "SUNSHINE" scheme. The house has many windows which let outside light brighten up th interior. The shutters are nice touch for the bedroom but privacy can be improved by having doors ! The surrounding scenic views are amazing and very relaxing.

 AirBnB is a Breakfast aNd Bed short term housing rental online platform based in San Francisco , California , U.S. with a worldwide presence. They charge the hosts a percentage for using their platform for rental bookings. It is a multi-billion dollar company founded in 2008 with some controversies and criticisms against them.

 

Off-Grid Living in a 5x 20ft Shipping Container Home

    It is the best tiny house I have seen so far , located in Coromandel , New Zealand. It is quite isolated but has the best view and tranquility that one can hope for. The house is totally off-grid powered by solar panels , water storage and waste wate tank.

 A nicely designed tidy house in the middle of no where (Twizel, New Zealand) or transquility in my dictionary.The small cabin (named Skylard Cabin) is designed by Airbnb cabin in New Zealand. I particularly like th skyline above the bedroom , providing a cosmic view in bed. I wonder if the underground water supply is filtered!/treated ?

The place is open for booking (no pets , no party event , not for children under 12, no smoking). I guess it is "no pet" except for the owner of the place (15:45).................

CA Family Build Epic Modern-Country Style Tiny House

  This modern-styled off-the-grid tidy house is located at Tauranga, New Zealand.  I like the general spaciousness of the house (kitchen, living-room and bedrooms and bathroom) and with a walk-in closet. It would be better with a flush toilet and more privacy for the rooms.

Young Couple Climb Onto The Housing Ladder With Incredible Tiny Home

   This is a modern tiny house located in Auckland , New Zealand. It is 8.8 meters long (including the outside storage cabinet) , 2.7 meters wide and 4.2 meters tall. This house is road-legal. The house is not yet off-grid, solar panels and water tanks are to be installed in the future.

   The interior is spacious assisted by a good layout. The colour helps to brighten up the interior of the house. The upstairs bedroom (left) and study room (right) are accessed through the catwalk. I think this is the second tiny house that  I saw having this good design feature. The kitchen has a lot of turn-around space , so two people can work in the kitchen without feeling crammed. A big window allows plenty of lights coming into the kitchen and provides a nice scenic view; however , the kitchen sink can be bigger. The layout of the bathroom really allows the space to be used efficiently. The sleeping space for the cats at the bottom of the pet cabinet is a clever idea. The only negative about the bathroom is the composting toilet. The study room is also spacious and the floor cutout for the legs while sitting in front of the computers is another good idea, the space is provided by the bathroom underneath the studyroom. Across the catwalk is the bedroom, plants are used to provide some privacy for the room. The bed has plenty of space in all dimensions, comfortable standing space even for Bryce. The windows, opposite to each other, provide comfortable night breeze across the room.

   This is one of my favourite tiny houses.

Epic Modern All Black Tiny House

    Another nice tiny house and probably the only tiny house I see so far that is totally in black externally. I guess the guy owner is some underground "Sith Lord" , black is the colour ! It is 7.3 meters long , 2.5 meters wide and 8 meters tall. It is also off-grid. I guess the couple is not originally from New Zealand , unless the guy is faking his American accent like Sam Neill (Omen III , The Hunt for Red October, Jurassic Park and soon in Jurassic World III).

    The interior is bright provided by the large windows and glass doors. The spaciousness is provided by the good layout. The kitchen has comfortable working space but it isn't equipped with any dish washer (personally , I enjoy washing dishes by hand , truely! )  A staircase is allocated on each side of the living room. The back of the left staircase actually protrudes into the bathroom and each step on the staircase forms a storage shelf space for bathroom vanity, a clever design idea. The bedroom is comfortable with plenty of light and breeze coming through the windows.

      As the owner mentioned , one of the most difficult things to do in living in a tiny house is finding the space to park the tiny house. The space can either be rented or owned , the latter will add significantly to the cost of living in a tiny home and sometimes will take away the cost advantage of living in a tiny house.

Submarine Tidy House , Colonial Cottage Style Tiny House , DIY Tidy house

   A compact submarine tidy house located at Marton, New Zealand.



   This $8,000 (NZD) is also built by the couple from the submarine tidy house above. The owner Keith is really into using recyled materials to build his house. Not much space and not too attractive on the outside but it is a relaxing space with a good view to the nature outside. one can't complain too much about a tidy house with a flush toilet ! The couple actually has a book authored by Bruce , the host of the video , on the bookshelf.



    A tidy house located in North Island , New Zealand (Dan doesn't sound like he is a native to New Zealand !?)  . The layout of this house makes the interior spacious; however, there would be more space if the house is completley rectangular instead of having a triangular roof top in the middle. The interior of the house is just like the outside of the house , looks very "green" .

     I like the idea of some trapdoor providing some privacy for the bedroom but not so much about the loft net as floor. I agree that the kid room is the best one in the house, just spacious with plenty of light.

Stunning Modern Small Home Made From 3 x 20ft Shipping Containers

   This is an on-grid house consisting of two shipping containers. Being on-grid has the advantage of having a flush toilet. The bathroom is nicely designed. The interior is bright with light coming in through several large windows which also provide spectacular view. The bedroom is spacious and it could accomodate a desk for study if the bed is located at one side of the room and a desk is placed at the other side. Having the desk near the window is ideal as the external light can provide the lighting during the day and the location also provides a nice scenic view.

   The sleep-out house is a bit small and with no toilet , so guests have to hold on to their waste during sleep time or wlak all the way to the main house to do their business ?

Ex Hong Kong Architect’s Family Tiny House

     I guess the house owner is used to work in Hong Kong as an architect and is familiar with designing for small space. This is a nice functional tiny house (doesn't have washing machine yet but space for it) . I guess the house is on-grid for power but has no septic system since composting toilet is in use. The interior is not crammed with a lot of walking space which is important for small children . Large glass doors also facilitates a large amount of incoming light but not a good choice for security (Auckland is probably a low/moderate crime-rate city?) . Being a single mom makes a lot of compromises. I guess her children have a better living quarter than herself. The house eventually needs to adapt to the growing needs for yet-to-be teenage children.

     Just one complaint besides the composting toilet .......... the choice of pet - a reptile ? I know reptiles are very "quiet" but still ~~~~~~, one probably needs to feed them crickets or such.

Luxury, High-End Tiny House After Leaving Ex Large Home

   This is high end tiny house with many features not commonly seen in other tiny houses. This house , as well as a tiny electric car , are towed by a truck (Volvo 780 Semi, single axial)  which can towed 80,000 lbs (the house weighs about 21,000 lbs) This is designed to be on-the-road in mind. The material cost is $125,000 USD. Electricity is provided by 1,800 W solar panels. I like the way the solar power conversion system is located under the stairs for easy access. The other thing I like is the sliding doors and windows that can open up and bring in the outdoors into the house. There is also a deck which requires assembly of boards stored under the house.

    Again, I am complaining about the composting toilet but being on the road all the time , it is probably the only option. For its size, the house can probably accomodate a guest room.

Stunning Black Off-Grid Cabin By The River

      This is an off-grid small cabin located in Mokau,  New Zealand. It is just the right size for a couple who would enjoy the tranquility provided by the surrounding pictureque scenary. The interior of the house is brighten up by several large windows. The electricity is provide by the solar panels. The design of the cabin gives it a unique characteristic.  It has two bedrooms , one on the main floor and the other in the loft , both are comfortably sized. The bathroom is also in good size with a flush toilet (the house has its own septic system) . I like the practical size and arrangements in the kitchen.

       However, I  would have used up the top space of the house for storage or a reading room  , etc . I am not sure why the only TV in the house is above the headboard of the bed in the loft. I think there is enough room on the main floor for a small dining space.

This Dream Tiny House Is A Total Game Changer

    This has to be one of the nicest tiny houses. It is located in Auckland , New Zealand. Bryce revisits Shaye after 7 years. She is now the owner of a tiny house construction business after been living in a tiny house.

    The first thing I like about this house is the exterior design. Corrugated metal meets wood. The upper part of the house is corrugated metal and a retangular container which maximises the interior living space. The second thing I like is the roof-top garden, nicely placed outside the bedrooms, so one can wake up to a beautiful garden every morning, but I wonder how Shaye can maintain the garden , do the plants grow through the roof ? is there any access to the garden? The third thing I like is the extension module space (non mobile unit) that is being used as a spare bedroom/ reading room. This room is "attached" to the main house , so one will be able to enter this room without leaving the indoor.

     Upon entering the house, one can feel the space in the entrance which is also the living room with a long comfortable sofa. Plenty of light enters the house through the glass doors  (I guess New Zealand is a safe place to have glass doors for houses?); also, being sliding glass doors, the living room can be "connected" to the outdoor by open the sliding doors completely. The top of the living room is only partially covered by a catwalk structure which serves as a hallway leading to the bedrooms on either sides of the hallway. There is no ladder climbing in this house. One goes up the stairs and use the catwalk hallway to access the bedroom, just simply elegant and practical! The best feature in the house has to be the "doors" for both bedroom ensuring privacy. The sizes of the bedrooms are just right. Shaye's room has a "plant" wall with living growing plants.

        I guess the house is still on-grid , at least partially, I see no solar cells on the roof of the house. The bad thing of the house is , yes you've guessed it , the composting toilet , even though the composting toilet is cleverly hidden in the cabinet when not in use , one still has to manually remove "one's own crap" . I would , at least invest in an incinerator toilet even though its upfront cost is extravagant.

      All-in-all, I give 8 or 9 out of 10 to this house. I guess like most tidy houses' occupants , they don't own the land, something a tidy house owner must consider.

Epic Modern Tiny House With Library Net Loft

   I like the simple style of the house. The interior is bright. The living/TV room is comfortable. The Lagun  table is a smart way to preserve space, it can be used for work, dinning while watching TV. It can rotate to accomodate different orientations. The other smart design of the house is the sliding/retractable shower door, it saves the weight and glass is not really that safe in the shower. However , with all the pluses,  there are also minuses. I don't really like the net loft , I think I would use the space for a second bedroom with a solid floor. I understand that it might enhance the feeling of spaciousness for the living room , a net loft can't be used as a bedroom or a comfortable reading room, unless of course , you are one of those who likes to fart while sleeping ^_^  (not me !) , the net will provide a quick dissipation of the semi-poisonous gas! The other minus is, of course, the composting toilet! I think I saw something "brown" in the toilet in the video, it could be a big piece of wood in the pile of sawdust, I wouldn't have the incentive to find out.

  

Spectacular Tiny Houses Outside of Zion National Park - Utah

   This couple has built a small village of tiny houses , one owned by them while others are owned by their respective parents. I guess the couple owns the land. One thing about tiny housess is that they are still built or parked on lands which are either rented , bought or on parents' land, so there is an expense on top of that for building a tiny house.  They are planning to build the fourth one. Each of them is given a name like Guardian Angel and Mother Eve , etc and each has its own characteristics. The village is 15 minutes away from the nearest town, so I guess that is where the residents can get their supplies.

   Living in a desert means water is scarce. I wonder how they get their water supply!? I thought I saw flush toilets in some of the houses, they must have some abundant supply of water from somewhere !? I enjoy all seasons and I am not sure that I could live in a desert all year round. I always wonder about exterior furnitures , are they covered or moved when it rains or there is a storm? So there is a bit of work every  time it rains?  I am not a fan of giant spiders , snakes  , scorpions or any other types of "local residents" in the desert. While the houses are nice,  the location would not be my first choice.

Tokyo maze-home blurs boundary urban/nature, indoors/outdoors

  A nice big house by Japanese standard. I would prefer the windows not just for ventilation but also for natural light. I feel that the vertical natural lights are not adequate for indoor lighting. The interior paint colour is a bit dark. I think it would brighten the interior of the house a lot more by having lightc-colour paint theme.  There are some spaces on the roof which can be used as an outdoor roof garden. The piece of land outside the house should also be developed into a garden if not a parking space.

Incredible EXPANDING TINY HOUSE with Transforming Furniture & Modern Design

   The tiny house has the special feature of slideouts on both sides of the house , with a touch of a button , the width of house increases , the increased spaces are used for the dinning and the living rooms. There is a few "fold-up" features that allow more efficient use of space - a fold-up table ,  a Murphy bed and a deck that can fold-up to the side of the house during travel. Another nice feature of the house is a flush toilet.The bedroom is on the main floor , so there is no climbing up-and -down the loft.

   The only complaint that I have is the lack of privacy for the bedroom. This is not really a complaint but the combo washer/dryer tends to take much longer to wash and dry than two stand alone washing and dryer machines.

Magical Adult-Sized Tree House That Looks Like a Hobbit Hole

  A great tree house but since the house sourrounded the tree, the tree only has a limited number of years to grow. I would prefer to build around the tree instead of surrounding it. All-in-all, excellent craftmanship. Wood is just a nice material to work with.

 The only complaints that  I have are the outdoor toilet that needs to be cleared manually like composting toilet and the outdoor shower . I personally prefer all these private businesses to be indoor.
 
 Why is there a latch lock on the outside of the main door? Won't one be locked in by someone on the outside of the house?
