   I can't wait to see the complete vol. 6 . Too bad to see Andromeda Kai destroyed. The combined power of Ginga's and Andromeda's Wave Motion Cannons destroy the core of the Ark of Destruction but can someone explain why Ginga's Wave Motion Cannon did not destroy Andromeda in front of her, and somehow the energy from both Ginga's and Andromeda's Wave Motion Cannons can combine and form a powerful energy beam that destroys the core of the Ark?

  In the article posted in October, 2018 regarding Aquaius, I mistakenly thought the modeller is not 小林誠 さん (Kobayashi Makoto san, the manga artist and mecha illustrator) .

   The Aquarius model was indeed done by Kobayashi Makoto san , I just didn't recognise him in the photo.

アンドロメダ 8 連装波動砲 SPACE BATTLESHIP ANDROMEDA OCTA WAVE MOTION CANNONS

    This was posted in June, 2018. I thought I shared it if you haven't seen it. It is so funny and quite insulting to 小林誠 さん (Kobayashi Makoto, mechanical designer) who has designed many mechas including Space Battle Yamato battleship such as Andromeda Kai with Quad Wave Motion Cannon.

   This is from  ゆりあん (Julian??) back in June, 2018. 

Octa (Octo ?) Wave Motion Cannons!!

Just divide it like a pie , the next one is Hexa Wave Motion Cannons!?

宇宙戦艦ヤマト2202 アンドロメダ改 四連装拡散波動砲 ANDROMEDA QUAD WAVE MOTION CANNONS

 According to this ,  Andromeda Kai's (ZZZZ-0001-YF-2203) Quad Wave Motion cannons look like firing of 4 Wave Motion energy "Sine-Wave like" blasts (created by the energy splitters) interweaving each other to create one powerful energy beam.




   With the help from 銀河 Galaxy , .....



   .... Andromeda Kai's Quad Wave Motion Cannons and Galaxy's modified Wave Motion Cannon .......







  Doesn't it look like the modfiication on my 1/1000 Andromeda model.




    4 enery blasts !



  4 inter-weaving "Sine Wave like " energy waves.



... combined with Galaxy's Wave Motion Cannon to produce a powerful energy blast enough to destroy "the core" of the White Comet?  I still don't know what the shimmering thing at the center of the White Comet is .



   The scale of the beam is not quite right. Since the size of White Comet (Ark of Destroction ) is bigger than Saturn, the size of the Ark's core is probbaly the size of a continuent , the size of the Quad Wave Motion Cannons blast is a bit too large.



    Yamato is flying away from an exploding planet ......



   Yamato is on fire.



   A giant piece of fallen "debris" from the planet is coming Yamato's way.




 Yamato is rescued by.......



 .........Captain Yamanami's one-man crew Andromeda Kai which is also severely damaged.



  Andromeda sacrifices herself to save Yamato (what's new with the script! Protagonist always survives)






......but apparently...........



  .... Captain Yamanami is rescued. His special suit (needed to pilot Andromeda Kai on his own, he is the sole crew of the ship) probably saves him from the inferno. I am hoping this character can last all the way to Space Battleship Yamato 2203 !



       Too bad to see Andromeda destroyed , I was hoping to see her final battle with the Comet Empire core, then again Andromeda didn't survive in the original Yamato 2 series either. I think many fans are quite fond of Andromeda. I wish there was a stand-alone Space Battleship Andromeda TV series (was an April-Fool's hoax in 2018 on one of the Japanese social media) .

      

    I think the tower is a giant Gatlantis battleship.

宇宙戦艦アンドロメダ級 アマテラス (天照) SPACE BATTLESHIP ANDROMEDA CLASS AMATERASU

Amaterasu has a lot more main cannons than Andromeda , also, missiles at the top and bottom of triangular wing in the front. The twin Wave Motion Cannons look like those from Andromeda (no energy beam splitters).

アンドロメダガミラス新造戦艦 GAMILAS ANDROMEDA CLASS SPACE BATTLESHIP

  The first picture is Andromeda class , 8 th ship, Aquarius. Bascially , Galaxy + Andromeda.

  The second and third pictures are Andromeda , Gamilas styled! These are probably the better designs than Aquarius ,  Yamato 2202 (final battle version) and Andromeda DX ZZZ-0001YF-2203.




   The majority of ship designs in 2202 are just changing colours with minor mechanical variations, just lame. The Quad Wave Motion Cannons design is the lamest!

SPACE BATTLE SHIP YAMATO , FINAL BATTLE VERSION


   Many newly added weapons are transferred from Galaxy (main cannons) .

   The cosmo radars are enlarged and there are now four fighter catapults at the back of Yamato. Many anti-aircraft guns are added to this upgraded Yamato( I do not know why all these would be regarded as upgrade). As mentioned in vol. 5 , Yamato will be equipped with Transit Wave Motion Cannon (same as the one in Yamato Revival?) .

   ...but these so called upgrades can help Bandai sell new model with minor change in the mould.











    I rather have a third main cannon or one at the bottom ofthe ship than having some extra anti-aircraft guns, or upgrade the Wave Motion Cannon. I think they call the so called upgraded Wave Motion Cannon in the final battle , トランジット波動砲 Transit Wave Motion Cannon (the same one they use in ヤマト復活編, Yamato Revival ?).

ZZZ-0001 ANDROMEDA KAI

  During the last encounter with Gatlantis at Saturn , both the Wave Motion Cannons and engine were damaged, resulted in no-warp capability which was provided by two Dreadnought class carriers attached to Andromeda AAA-0001 using gravity anchors.

  After return to Earth , at the Time Fault factory , AAA-0001 was subjected to emergency repair and given a major upgraded with autonomous navigation and high mobility systems , the latter requires the crew to wear special suits. Dreadnought signature Wave Motion Cannon splitters were incorporated into Andromeda, upgrading the Dual Wave Motion Cannons to Quad Wave Motion Cannons.
  
   As suggested by Captain Yamanami , high mobility with weapons pose a great risk, it is decided that the ship must be operated by at least one crew. In the case of Captain Yamanami's Andromeda, he is the only crew. Several of this new modified Andromedas are manufactured and they are unmanned , the newly formed fleet is given the code name YF-2203 and Andromeda Kai is the first ship - ZZZ-0001YF-2203 ,which is the only manned ship in the fleet. The fleet is commissioned to provide the defense for the Mars space region.
 
  The above mentioned of Andromeda with two attached Dreadnought class carriers is also used in Andromeda Kai ZZZ-0001YF-2203 to combat Gatlantis fleet again.
