魔女っ子メグちゃん MAJOUKKO MEGU CHAN

This is 魔女っ子メグちゃん MAjoukko Megu Chan (cha  n),  an anime from Toei (1974 -75) about two candidates Kanzaki Megu and Gou Non to the throne of the Queen of the Makai World. They are sent to live among humans to learn from them, especially in human emotions. Gou was cold and rid herself any types of emotion. She started off as a rival to Kanzaki, but slowly into the series , Gou became more of a helper / an assistance to Kanzaki. Kanzaki not only has to deal with Gou but also an agent チョーサン Chou San ( the one with "shovel" teeth in the first video , 1:10) who is sent by サターン  Saturn, the Queen of Darkness to sabotage Kanzaki's chance to the throne, in favour of Gou.

The Megu chan was popular and anime such as Sailormoon and many others that follow are based on this anime.

This anime was never popular or remains unknown outside Japan except in Asia , definitely popular in Hong Kong 仙女下凡.

This is the final fighter between the two. Neither of them becomes the Queen and are sent back to Earth to retrain from the beginning. The fight is so funny because they no longer use magic on each other but becomes a cat fight.

Original singer of the opening / ending themes 前川陽子 Maekawa Youko.

The 'erotic' touch (or better teasing touch) similar to Tokimeki Tonight one was very appreciated in my country! ;-)

  2. In Italy back to the days (the 80s and later, Yes I'm so old) were broadcast on tv any genre of anime: from Super Robots (Nagai Go rules of course) to mahō shōjo, action, drama, horror, SF, whatever! Really if you cite an anime classic from 80s people from my generation probably have been watched it! Italians love Japanese animation (not only but mostly)! BTW thank you for your blog it is really a useful and nice source of information!

    2. I thank you for the blog: it is one of the first source about toys and sf model kits I check almost every day! Regarding anime series (and comics/manga I guess) it seems "the world is a small place" since we have the same background: back in the days I have watched all the series you have mentioned in the comment but the first! Here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fKNR1V5mb0) the italian opening for Astro Ganga (as we used to name it in Italy): I prefer it just because it is the one I used to listen when I was a kid.

    3. Sounds good , even if I don't speak Italian. Does the Italian language have different local dialects? Is Sicily part of Italy or some special region?

    4. There are 20 regions in Italy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regions_of_Italy). Each region has his local dialect and within a region any city has strong differences in the dialect (for example in my region Friuli Venezia Giulia, North-East of Italy there are at least three distinct dialects quite different one from the other). Sicily is both a region and a island (the same can be said for Sardinia): it has a special status but other regions have a special status as well.
