Furoshiki is a traditional Japanese wrapping cloth made of silk, nylon or cotton . In the Edo period , it was mostly for carrying clothes and such to public bath. Nowadays , it is used for wrapping bento boxes or as gift wrap. Sizes are also different depending on the sizes of the items to be carried. Different wrapping techniques are used for different types of items to be wrapped.
