GENE WILDER DIES AT THE AGE OF 83
Most famous for his role as Willy Wonka (Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory) has died from complications of Alzheimer's disease at the age of 83 (29 th August, 2016). Mr. Wilder was born Jerome Silberman in 1933, Milwaukee, Wisconsin (U.S.) and graduated with a BA in Communication and Theatre Arts at the University Of Iowa.
Although Mr. Wilder was suffering from Alzheimer's but according to his nephew, Jordan Walker-Pearlman , he still remembered his family in his final days.
Incidentally, Mr. Wilder's sister Corinne passed away in January, 2016.
Although his list of movies isn't too long but I enjoy all of his movies that I have seen, including Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory, Hanky Panky, Blazing Saddles, Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex But Were Afraid to Ask , Young Frankenstein, The Woman In Red , The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother ( it is hilarious) and various movies with the late Richard Pryor (passed away in 2005) including See No Evil, Hear No Evil. I think his last TV appearance was in Will & Grace (Yo Gabba Gabba , 2015 was his last voice work for TV).
In his later years, he had been an active writer (also screen writer).
I shall miss him and his singing (I still remember the songs he sang in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory) .
Personally, I advocate watching older classic movies where there is no computer graphics and everything seems more genuine.
These are some of Mr. Wilder's movies :
A Documentary on Gene Wilder
(My. Leonard Nimoy, most famous as Mr. Spock in Star Trek, died last year at the age of 83 also).
I wish they had come up with a cure for Alzheimer's disease already.
R.I.P. Mr. Wilder @>>----
