Ralph McQuarrie was of course the conceptual designer and illustrator for Star Wars Trilogy (he rejected the offer as the conceptual deisgner for Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, he was getting tired), as well as the TV series Battlestar Galactica (1978-79), Indiana Jones , E.T (alien ship) , Raiders of the Lost Ark, Close Encounter of the Third Kind (alien UFO), Star Trek IV , the Voyage Home and Batteries not included.
Unfortunately, he passed away in 2012 at the age of 82 from Parkinson's disease, but his works still have much influences in Star Wars media and franchise today.
