HOT TOYS HOWARD CHAN

 Many years ago, no one knew who Haward Chan was and there was no Hot Toys . Howard Chan , a figure toy enthusiast , the founder of Hot Toys started off in 1998 doing figure costumes , etc due to financial resources. Ironically/coincidentally , the shop was , called Cool Toys.  Hot Toys started in 2000 but , Hot Toys couldn't get licenses from studios initially because Hot Toys is from Hong Kong and most studios didn't have the confidence in Hong Kong Hot Toys achieving the standard they demanded.  Without biased , asian toy fans always have higher standard in toys (whether it is accuracy, features, material used , toy designs such as articulations/joints, proportions are always the selling points to them). Many years ago, Hong Kong was the manufacturer center for many well known toy lines.  Today,  Hot Toys has achieved the world-class status (even CNN had a segment about Hot Toys sometime ago, classifying their figures as museum-grade). According to Howard , accuracy is the key and I agree, the sculpting and features are way beyond even the closest competition. One other selling point is the fact that Hot Toys sometimes throws in some extras at no extra cost.

   Having said that, I have to clarify that I do not have any associations with Hot Toys , so this is not advertising on my blog; also, I only own one Hot Toys figure - Spider-Man 3 , Spider-Man. I personally can't afford the premium prices that come with Hot Toys 1/6 figures but I always enjoy the sculpting and accuracy of the figures.
