A self-built tiny house in Nashville , U.S

Jason Miles built his own 800 square-foot tiny house somewhere in Nashville. His goal is to be financial free (he is 30 something ) . His intention is to build what he needs , nothing more.

He manages a private psychiatric practice , works from 8am  to 5pm , the rest of his time would be spending on this house until 11 pm everyday including weekends.

He has some experience in construction and did his own research on cost and how to build things (watching Youtube do-it-yourself videos , etc .

He did the connection setting for the fixtures , toilet , HVAC , flooring / tiling and most of the electric work and only contracted out the work if it required more than one person to do it (roofing , block work for the foundation, etc).

This tiny house passed all the regulation inspections and met all codes (yes, building codes / inspections are still required for tiny houses in the States). This is important because they affect the safety of the house occupants.

This is the fruition of his hard work.

Did he wait for the rainbow before taking this photo?

I like the size of this tiny house but I would complete it with a second floor , with more space for a guest room or a study, etc. I just like to use up all the space there is in a limited space environment.

The door underneath the real nice staircase is for the bathroom.

A  very comfortable bedroom.

A nice kitchen and the toilet at the back of the kitchen? I personally prefer the toilet to be further away from the kitchen where the food is .

As I said , I would complete the second floor, so there is more rooms or usable space.

A comfortable living room.

Jason uses a telescoping ladder to get up there.

The house was appraised at $40,000 USD above what he paid for building the house.
According to Jason, he saves around $300 USD every month paying his mortgage instead of paying rent and pays around $20,000 USD of interest for a 15-year mortgage instead of a 30-year one.
