This is a song, originally sung by 沢田研二 Sawada Kenji in 1978 for Space Battleship Yamato movie 2 さらば宇宙戦艦ヤマト 愛の戦士たち Arrivederci Yamato or Farewell To Yamato. It is also used for Space Battleship Yamato 2202 ending theme (re-recorded). Sawada san is 68 already, time flies! It is a good song , I am glad that they re-used it for Yamato 2202; I am also glad that Sawada san is still with us and still singing (he sounds the same all these years ).
This song is also covered by ささきいさお Sasaki Isao , the singer for Space Battleship Yamato main theme.
