小笠原伯爵邸 OGASAWARA HAKUSHAKUTEI

What is Ogasawara  Hakushaku tei? It was the residence for the Earl of feudal lord (小倉藩藩主 Koukura Banshu) , 小笠原長幹 (Ogasawara Nagayoshi) during early Shouwa era (1927) and is also where the photos of  Metal Build Strike Freedom were taken (posted yesterday on my blog  http://timelessdimension0.blogspot.ca/2015/11/toy-news-11-th-november-2015-20151111.html ). It was built by steel and concrete unlike many buildings at the time. It is now classified as Tokyo Historic building 66.

It is now a famous high class restaurant serving Spanish cuisine (open in 2002 , 平成14年) which also has a cafe and they host weddings (for the well-to-do).

This place has a dress code (Semi formal / Jackets ) and parents with children under 13 must use private rooms which are not available during Christmas time.

東京都選定歴史的建造物（第66号）

旧小倉藩藩主の伯爵小笠原長幹の邸宅として1927年（昭和2年）に現在地に建てられた。建物は当時流行のスパニッシュ様式で鉄筋コンクリート造の地上2階、地下1階建て。敷地は江戸時代の小倉藩下屋敷跡地である。戦後1948年（昭和23年）に米軍に接収され、4年後に東京都に返還されて1975年（昭和50年）まで東京都福祉局中央児童相談所として使用されたがその後は用途を失って放置され、一時は取り壊しも検討された。  2000年（平成12年）になって管理していた都生活文化局から民間貸出の方針が示され、同年12月には箱根等でレストランを経営するインターナショナル青和が借り手に決定。本間建設株式会社の修復工事を経て2002年（平成14年）6月にレストラン「小笠原伯爵邸」としてオープンした。  小笠原家子孫が宗家を勤める小笠原流礼法の教場ともなっている。

The Swatiska sign in the map is NOT a Swatiska (or anything Hitler's third reign related) . It is a Buddhism symbol showing where the Buddhist temples are.

Heinrich Schliemann (A German businessman) found the symbol at the site of Troy and the fact that the symbol was found on ancient German pottery, Heinrich thought the symbol was originated from Germany and Hitler adopted it . The Swatiska is a mirror image and tilted version the Buddhism symbol. So next time you see an Asian wearing a necklace with the symbol, don't think he/she is a Nazi.
