TOTO BASSIST MIKE PORCARO DEAD AT 59

I was looking for TOTO online, one of my favorite bands from the 80's and only to find out that the band's bassist Mike Porcaro died from Lou Gehrig's Disease a few days ago (15 th March , 2015) . TOTO has such hits as Africa and Rosanna. Mike wasn't one of the original members until David Hungate departed from the band, so Mike wasn't there for Africa , Rosanna and such.

Lou Gehrig's Disease (aka Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis)  is a progressive neurological disease thats weakens muscles and affect physical function including speaking and swallowing; it causes the nerve cells to die gradually. There is no cure at this time and it leads to death eventually.

To musicians who play instruments, this is a very devastating disease. The band has been touring to raise money for Mike and as well as promoting awareness of ALS.

Coincidentally , lately , everytime I look up some musicians and only to find out that they died a few days ago. Last time was Joe Cocker.
