CASEY KASEM PASSED AWAY AT 82

For those who listened to the American Top 40 would know who he was. He retired from radio on 4th July, 2009. He had been suffering from Lewy body disease for some time and was removed from life support.

He was also the voice behind numerous Transformers characters : Blurstreak, Cliffjumper, Teletraan and also the voice behind Shaggy in Scooby Doo.

Lewy Body disease is a multi-system disease caused by a protein that depletes a chemical in the brain called acetylcholine at the stem of the brain (including the cerebral cortex), this affects perception, thinking , sleep and behaviour. Lewy Body Disease is very similar to Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's  disease ; and is often mis-diagnosed as such. Treatments often involved physcians from different disciplines.
